HITW Presents The Twilight Zone: of Shadows and Substance
Submitted for your entertainment. It's 8:00pm on a sultry summer evening; you enter a dark, air-conditioned space in the city of New Britain, Connecticut. The space is inviting and intimate; it's known as a black box theater. Actors take the stage and transport you to another time and place, a place not only of sound and light but of mind. You are about to enter The Twilight Zone.
Hole in the Wall Theater presents The Twilight Zone: Of Shadows and Substance, four teleplays from the original award-winning television series, The Twilight Zone written by Rod Serling and George Clayton Johnson. The teleplays, which have been adapted for stage, will be performed live and include: One for the Angels, Obsolete Man, Nothing in the Dark, and It's a Good Life. The teleplays are directed by Kevin Brownell, Christopher "Kit" Webb, Mary Ann Kelly, and Eugene Tellier respectively.
A show with appeal for fans of the television show, as well as theater and sci-fi lovers, The Twilight Zone: Of Shadows and Substance boasts cast members from around the state, including: Jim Byrne, Jr. of South Windsor, Jordan and Zachary Cyr of Cromwell, Paul-Michael Dumin of Southington, Barbara Gallow and Doug Seelye of Newington, MaryAnn Halibozek and Deb Thaler of West Hartford, Sarah Macci of Milford, Megan McKenney of Hamden, Betty Olson of Glastonbury, Rudolph Saccoccia of Vernon, Alan Swinamer of Southbury, and Dennis Hull of New Britain as the Narrator.
Twilight Zone: Of Shadows and Substance opens on Friday, July 11, 2008 with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm through August 9, 2008 with matinee performances on Sunday, July 20, 2008 and Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm.
