Dear Friends and Patrons of Hole in the Wall Theater,
For over forty years, Hole in the Wall has prided itself on being a staple of the Greater New Britain Arts Community. We’ve produced over 280 plays and welcomed thousands of people beyond our doors, all while keeping our mission of making quality theater accessible to all at the core of who we are. As an entirely volunteer-run, Non-Profit organization, Hole in the Wall would not be able to exist without the dedicated efforts and generous donations from our community. We are infinitely grateful to every individual who has contributed to our organization, both on stage and off.
It’s been over 15 years since we renovated our current home at 116 Main Street, transforming the retail space into the theater many of you now know and love. In the entirety of this time our ticket prices of $20 for regular admission and $15 for students and seniors have not changed. Unfortunately, the cost of operating a business in Downtown New Britain has increased to the point where these prices are no longer sustainable. We have made continual efforts to cut spending wherever possible, including changing our ticketing, phone, internet, and credit card processing vendors. However, these changes are not substantial enough to make up for the rising cost of rent and utilities.
Therefore, Hole in the Wall will be increasing the prices of our Mainstage productions effective January 1st, 2020. The new rate for regular admission tickets to non-musical productions will be $23 and the rate for students and seniors will be $20*. We will, however, continue to offer a Pay What You Can Night on the second Friday of every production, as has been our tradition for many years. Additionally, we will be offering an Early Bird discount to those who order their tickets online for an upcoming production within the first two weeks they are available for purchase.
With these changes it is our hope that Hole in the Wall will keep its doors open for many more years to come. Again, we appreciate your patronage and support more than we can express. Thank you for helping us continue to let the light in.
