Audition Notice: Lysistrata at Hole in the Wall Theater

The Hole in the Wall Theater (HITW) in New Britain, CT is seeking a cast of eleven for its upcoming production of Lysistrata by Aristophanes in a raunchy new translation by Sarah Ruden. Auditions will be held on September 27 & 28 at 7:00p.m. at Hole in the Wall Theater on 116 Main Street in New Britain, CT. We will be gender-fluid in our casting, with a preference for non-binary, gender non-conforming, drag kings, drag queens, butch, femme, and trans* actors. Performers of all ages, shapes, sizes and identifications wanted. Actors will be asked to read from the script.

Performances run Fridays & Saturdays from November 13 through December 5 with one Sunday matinee on November 22.   Lysistrata is under the direction of Rachel Teagle of Stratford. Visit www.hitw.org for more information and updates.

Seeking an ensemble of 10 actors to play 25 roles including:

Councilor: An imperious politician

Calonice: Her batty neighbor,

Myrrhine: Sweet and newly-married

Lampito: A lusty Spartan

Cinesias: Hapless and horny

Ambassadors, Soldiers, Chorus, Old Women, and a Baby.
