Audition Details

Game On! is an original, teen-centric, Pop-Rock musical inspired by beloved board games that highlights the battles LGBTQ+ individuals and families face every day. We travel through the town where, in the face of intolerance, a modern family seeks to reconnect with each other, a young woman grapples with her identity, a mother finds her voice, and a community decides what it stands for. Friends, family, and community need to come together if they’ll have a chance of changing the minds of those who would run them out of town.

  • Please prepare a 32-bar cut (approximately one minute) of a contemporary Musical Theatre song.
  • An accompanist will be provided, please bring piano Sheet Music, printed and in a binder or a downloadable file ready to be sent to the accompaniment.
  • There will be a movement section, please wear comfortable clothes.
  • Please bring a printed copy of your theatre resume and headshot. An additional picture may be taken at auditions.

If you have any questions, please email jcorrales@hitw.org and Billywinter@hitw.org . If you need any accessibility accommodations, please let us know and we will be happy to meet them.

We are looking for a passionate group of actors ready for the task of bringing life to this new work! We will work to honor the vision of the Seery Family and the LGBTQ+ experiences that this show seeks to highlight. While we will be evaluating acting, singing, and movement, we are also looking for performers who are creatively open and will help bring bright ideas and big energy to this production. In bringing the characters to life, we will look to you and your unique experiences and talents to help them find their ways.

We are actively seeking a diverse cast that represents the communities we live in and the stories we seek to highlight. The roles are open to all ethnicities unless specifically noted. While some character genders are set in the script due to the nature of the story, we encourage auditioners of any gender identity to audition for all roles they connect with.

The ages of the teen characters are an important note from the playwright, and we will be working to cast as close to those ages as we can. Please note for Teen actors, our age minimum is 13, if you are 18 and under we will need a parent or guardian present at auditions. All members of the cast and production teams over 18 will be required to take part in a background check before rehearsals begin.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will be Sunday through Thursday, through June & July. We will not meet every day, every week. Our first Rehearsal will be Sunday, June 1st at Noon, all will be called. We will send out a detailed schedule closer to the beginning of rehearsals, noting who is specifically called and on which days.

We reserve the right to adjust the schedule as needed, but will always give a minimum of one week’s notice and will be flexible with conflicts given prior to rehearsals beginning for those adjusted dates.
