Ring in the Cheer at HITW!

Hello, Hole in the Wall Family!

The end of the year is upon us once again. It’s been quite a year with 2019 here at HITW, but it’s almost time to bid it farewell. But, before we start a new year, we still have plenty to offer to the good people of New Britain this December.

First up, we have ONE weekend left of our current mainstage show! Directed by Thom Ozimek and adapted by Tony Palermo, we bring you It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Drama! Based on Frank Capra’s holiday classic, we follow the story of George Bailey, a small-town guy with world-wide goals. But George’s responsibilities and turmoil not only keep him from those goals but make him question the point of his very life. It’s up to wingless guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody, to show him that not only is his life precious to himself, but to the people around him. Presented in the radio drama format of the 1940s, the show contains commercial jingles, live sound effects, and plenty of holiday cheer to help ring in the Christmas season.

It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Drama will perform for two more shows on Friday, December 13th, and Saturday, December 14th, at 8pm. Tickets are available online or at the door for $20 ($15 for students/seniors). Check out our trailer for the show, and don’t miss a night of classic Christmas fun and cheer! The production is put on in partnership with United Bank Foundation CT.

To further help ring the Christmas cheer, we have a special showcase for everyone. On Friday December 20th (7pm), and Saturday, December 21st (2pm and 7pm), we have a staged reading of A Seussified Christmas Carol! Written by Peter Bloedel and directed by Kim Wantroba, Charles Dickens’ classic tale of Christmas spirits and miserly Mr. Scrooge gets the Dr. Seuss treatment in an event for the whole family. Tickets are avalable now! $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and if you have a little one under the wee age of 3, they get in for free! Get those tickets now and help us wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

With the end of one show comes the beginning of another. The beginning of 2020 will bring us a brand-new show original work in the form of The Road to Aracea! Written by Kieran McGowan and directed by Francis A. Daley, we present a sci-fi romantic comedy about two pairs of star-crossed lovers traveling time and space and telling tales that show how the past can affect our present as well as our future.

The Road to Aracea will begin it’s set build after our Christmas showcase, so be sure to check our calendar for updates and come on by to lend a hand. Be sure to also keep an eye on our Facebook page for sign-ups to help run concession (which gets you into the show for free) when the show goes up on January 24th. Be aware, The Road to Aracea will mark the beginning of our new ticket pricing system. For more details, be sure to read the post by HITW treasurer, Lauren DellaFera.

Be sure to check out the rest of our website to look at our upcoming season of shows! Also don’t forget to follow us on Facebook (and join our info group), Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. The end of the year helps bring about a new beginning through holiday cheer and we hope you join us for all the fun. From all of us at Hole in the Wall Theater, we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season, and we’ll see you on the stage! Thank you!
