This Summer at HITW!!!

Hello Hole in the Wall friends and family!

First off, we hope that you’re staying healthy. Things have been quite the challenge the past year for all of us. We had to cancel performances and close our doors to the public, a choice not taken lightly. But now, we’ve got big plans and big announcements, so keep reading to find out what we’re up to.

First up, we have a new streaming production for you to enjoy from the comfort of your home. Break out your twenty-sided die and tune into Darths and Droids. Adapted by Justin M. Hughes and based on the webcomic by David Morgan-Marr and the Comic Irregulars, we find ourselves joining a group of friends starting a new campaign in their tabletop game, but this time involving droids, Jedi, and Jar Jar (Binks that is). Follow the twists, turns, and dice rolls as this group make up a somewhat familiar galaxy in one not so far away.

Directed by Alan Burkholder and produced by Terrance J. Peters, Darths and Droids will be streaming this June. Keep an eye and ear out on our website and all our social media so you won’t miss a moment.

Along with Darths and Droids, we have a HUGE announcement to make! Not only are we planning for a streaming production this June, we are also putting together our first post-lockdown LIVE production! That’s right, we’re opening our doors back up to entertain you!

Our first show back is a theatrical classic: Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot.

Directed by Steven Simpson (The Glass Menagerie, A Doll’s House) and produced by HITW President Ryan Wantroba (Our House), we follow main characters Estragon and Vladimir to a leafless tree. Here we hear their discussions of pain, religion, philosophy, all while waiting for someone they may not even know.

Be on the lookout for details on tickets and safety precautions during Waiting for Godot. The curtain will rise (finally!) from Friday, July 16 to Saturday, July 31. We look forward to seeing people in person again.

Not only are we holding a show in person again, but we’re also holding our next general meeting on Wednesday May 12 in person. Be sure to stop by and hear more on the plans on what we’ve got going for our favorite theater. If you’re not sure about showing up in person, we’ve got you covered. We will be having an online capability so you can still join from the comfort of your home.

We’re super excited for what’s coming up and we hope you are, too. Don’t forget to follow us here at hitw.org, as well as on Facebook (and our Info Group), Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. We wish you good health and we’ll be happy to (finally) see you on the stage! Thank you!
