Auditions: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Hole in The Wall Theater has already begun planning for when the nights get longer and the ghoulies, ghosties,
and long-legged beasties begin to stalk the night. HITW’s next set of auditions are for a timeless tale of terror
set in the foggy London streets. Directed by John R. Bosco and produced by Laurie Maria Cabral and Maranda Gallo,
they are proud to present Jeffrey Hatcher’s adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde.

Set in the foggy 19th century streets of London, England, we follow the tale of Dr. Henry Jekyll. A man of high regard
with a dark secret that he attempts to keep hidden. But, when the dark urges of Mr. Edward Hyde threaten to undo
everything in Jekyll’s life, how far will the “good doctor” go to stop it? A timeless tale and a look through the eyes of madness.

Auditions for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde will be held at Hole in The Wall Theater on Sunday, August 13th and Monday, August 14th
at 6pm and 7pm, respectively. Potential call backs will be held on Tuesday, August 15th at 7pm.

The cast will comprise of 6 actors (4 male, 2 Female) of varying ages (20s to 50s+).
All actors aside from the actor playing Dr. Jekyll will be double cast in multiple roles, with 4 of the actors (3 male, 1 female) taking
the role of Mr. Hyde at various points in the play (sometimes simultaneously). No role has been pre-cast and all are welcome to audition.

Edward Hyde 1/Gabriel Utterson
Edward Hyde 2/Inspector/Richard Enfield/O. F. Sanderson/Sir Danvers Carew
Edward Hyde 3/Dr. H. K. Lanyon/Drunkard/Surgical Student/Porter
Edward Hyde 4/Old Woman/Poole/Prostitute/Surgical Student/Maid

All those coming to audition for the show will be asked to provide any previous acting experience. Headshots and resumes are welcome
but not required. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Anyone wishing to provide a monologue is welcome, but this is also
not required.
Actors will be asked to do English accents. The actor portraying Doctor Lanyon will also be asked to do a Scottish accent.

All potential cast members will be required of the following:
Possession of a reliable mode of transportation.
Attendance to one (1) General Meeting at HITW (usually the second Wednesday of the month).
Attendance to one (1) performance of the current production at HITW (August: Osage County).
Attendance to the strike of the set of both August: Osage County (August 27th) and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (October 22nd)

Cast members will also be asked to provide any schedule of conflicts between the day of auditioning until the end of the shows run.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde will open on Friday, October 6th, 2023 and will run for three weekends on Fridays and Saturdays with one (1)
Sunday matinee on October 15th, 2023.
