The North Plan

By Jason Wells

Directed By Dina Addorisio

April 12th & 13th

Hole in the Wall Theater welcomes local theater group Backyard Theater Ensemble for a one weekend performance of Jason Wells’ The North Plan. After a ruthless faction seizes power in Washington, Carlton Berg, a bureaucrat for the State Department, runs off with the new regime’s top secret enemies list. Unfortunately for Carlton, the chase has come to an end in a police station in the Ozarks town of Lodus. With a pair of DHS agents on the way, Carlton’s last hope is in the people around him: an unsympathetic police chief, an ambivalent administrative assistant, and fellow prisoner Tanya Shepke, a motor-mouthed recidivist who’s turned herself in for drunk driving and thinks Skynyrd should be on the new money. This dark, political comedy is as hilarious as it is gripping, and is something you won’t want to miss!

Performances will be held Friday April 12th at 8:00PM, Saturday April 13th at 2:00 PM, and Saturday April 13th at 8:00PM.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the door ($20 general admission /$15 for students/seniors (62+) with ID), or you can secure them in advance by purchasing tickets online ($17 general admission/$12 seniors/students), or calling in a phone reservation to 860-229-3049 (payable at the door).

Champagne and Licorice

by Scott Stephen Kegler

Directed by Christina Giannelli

May 17 — June 8

Champagne and Licorice is a funny and touching play that finds a young woman returning home to share sobering news on New Year’s Eve. Looming heartbreak gets put on hold when she is introduced to her mother’s new boyfriend, learns the facts about her brother’s polyamorous relationships, and invites a drunken red-nosed clown to the party. Together they wheel through communication breakdowns, foiled expectations, and end-of-life choices, while staying up together long enough to watch the ball drop.

The production of “A Streetcar Named Desire,” originally scheduled for this slot, has been withdrawn from the season’s lineup.
