The Trouble With Space Cannibals – A Staged Reading

June 22nd, 8:00PM

The Trouble with Space Cannibals, written by HITW members Scott Stephen Kegler and Bill Arnold, will be receiving its world premiere onstage at HITW in May 2020, but we just couldn’t wait to share it. Come see a preview reading of this hilarious Star Trek-influenced satire.

In deep space, a starship barely manages to survive traversing an asteroid belt. The officer’s mismanagement of the crisis and complete disregard for all non-officers speaks to longstanding issues of leadership… Issues that come to the forefront when it turns out that an entire wing of the ship has been malfunctioning for months and the crew there has been forced to survive by any means necessary. Will the eccentric and disgruntled ensign leading the crew succeed in controlling the ship? Will the officers ever learn any lessons at all? And how delicious are hands, exactly?
