First up, our final show of the season is Theresa Rebeck’s satirical comedy, Our House. Following the exploits of both a dysfunctional pack of roommates and a just as dysfunctional television station, we see a darkly comedic look at how closely intertwined the news and reality television can be. The show opens July 13 and runs until August 4 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm. We will have a Pay-What-You-Can Night July 20, and a Sunday matinee at 2 pm on July 22. You can purchase tickets now at hitw.tix.com for $20 general admission, while students and seniors get in for $15.
Our next general meeting will be July 18. Walk in the door and you’re a voting member!
We’re kicking off our new season soon, and as always we start with calling everyone to come out and audition. The show in question: Final Arrangements by Stephen Kegler. The writer who brought you WHACKED and A Cup of Joe at the Iffy Fish brings us a comedy set in, of all places, a funeral home. Centered around a guy just trying to do his job delivering flowers, the play finds our poor protagonist trying to deal with weirdo morticians, lousy accountants, and dead clowns. Auditions will be held on July 15th and 16th at 7 pm at the theater, with potential callbacks on the 17th. Don’t miss out!
Next month, we’re doing a show-in-a-day, a 1,440 minute production, aka a HOLE IN ONE! Join Hole in the Wall Theater as we write and produce eight plays in one day, August 10-11. You may only sign up by emailing Luis Marrero at marreroluis@yahoo.com. Please include your name, your email, your phone, your hometown, and whether you’d like to sign up to be a writer, director, or actor. For more information, take a peek at the Facebook event linked above.
We have launched a gofundme to focus our donation-seeking efforts for the rest of the season. Please spread the word among your friends, and make a donation. Every little bit helps!
