Hole in the Wall Theater is proud to present the final show of the 2023 season; The Curious Savage by John Patrick. The production is directed by Billy Moro and produced by Terrance J. Peters and Shawna Martine.
Mrs. Savage has been left ten million dollars by her husband and wants to make the best use of it, in spite of her grown-up stepchildren’s efforts to use it for themselves. The stepchildren commit Mrs. Savage to a sanatorium, hoping to “bring her to her senses.” In the sanatorium Mrs. Savage meets various social misfits, people who need the help Mrs. Savage can provide. Contrasting the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the avarice and vanity of “respectable” public figures, it calls into question conventional definitions of sanity while lampooning celebrity culture.
The show will run from Friday, December 1st to Saturday, December 16th. 8pm performances will be held December 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th, with Friday, December 8th being a Pay What You Can performance. There will also be a matinee at 3pm on Sunday, December 8th.
Performances will be held at Hole in the Wall theater at 116 Main St, New Britain, CT. Tickets can be purchased at hitw.org/tickets or with cash or card at the box office before performance.
