Auditions for William Shakespeare’s The Tempest will be held on Sunday, January 14th, 2024 at 6pm and Monday, January 15th, 2024 at 7pm. Auditions will take place at Hole in the Wall Theater, located at 116 Main Street, New Britain, CT. If callbacks are required, they will be held at Hole in the Wall Theater on Saturday, January 20th at 1pm.
The show will run Friday, April 12th, 19th, 26th, Saturday, April 13th, 20th, 27th, and Sunday, April 21st.
Auditions will consist of monologues and reading sides from the script. Monologues are required. Memorization is not required, but preparedness counts – please do look over your monologue at least once before your audition. Please make sure all monologues do not go longer than two minutes.
Auditioners will be considered for whatever roles they indicate interest in, regardless of age or gender.
If you have a headshot and resume that you would like to provide, feel free to bring it in or email it to mgallo@hitw.org. Headshots and resumes are not required for auditioning!

All potential cast members will be required of the following:
Access to a reliable mode of transportation.
Attendance to one (1) General Meeting at HITW (usually the second Wednesday of the month).
Attendance to one (1) performance of the current production at HITW (Pet Peeves).
Attendance to the strike of the set of both Pet Peeves (2/18/2024) and The Tempest (4/28/2024)
Synopsis
The Tempest gives us a magician, Prospero, a former duke of Milan who was displaced by his treacherous brother, Antonio. Prospero is exiled on an island, where his only companions are his daughter, Miranda, the spirit Ariel, and the monster Caliban. When his enemies are among those caught in a storm near the island, Prospero turns his power upon them through Ariel and other spirits.
