About Us

View More Production Photos

Hole in the Wall Theater has been a staple of the New Britain arts community for over 50 years. Through the hundreds of shows we’ve produced, our mission has always been to make theater accessible to everyone. Every one of our Main Stage productions includes a “Pay What You Can Night” to give all of our patrons the opportunity to experience the joy of live theater, regardless of their circumstances.

Every one of our members – from our actors, to our directors, to our tech, maintenance, and administrative team – are volunteers. We are always seeking new helping hands to join in our efforts to produce quality theater for the community at large. Please check our auditions page and our volunteer page for more information on how you can get involved, or learn more about our history and past productions to see what you can expect here at Hole in the Wall!

Where We’re Located

Hole in the Wall Theater is located right in the heart of Downtown New Britain at 116 Main Street. We’re only a few minutes from both Rt. 9 and Rt. 72. Free parking for our productions is available in the Chestnut Street Garage, located next to the New Britain Police Station. Street parking is also free after business hours.

If you would like to purchase tickets to one of our upcoming productions, you may either make a reservation with our Box Office at 860-229-3049, or place an order online. For phone reservations, please make sure to leave your name, the date of the performance, number and type of tickets (GA, student, or senior), phone number, as well as your email address so that we can send you a confirmation. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on performance nights with cash or credit card.

Admission for all Main Stage plays is $25 for General Admission and $20 for Seniors (62+) and for Students with a valid student I.D. The pricing of showcases and other community events will vary. Tickets purchased online may be subject to additional fees. Please see our tickets page for upcoming events.

Hours of Operation

Our Box Office opens at 7:00 PM for Friday and Saturday performances, and 1:00 PM for Sunday matinees. The theater opens at 7:30 PM on show nights, or 1:30 PM for Sunday matinees. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Covid Safety

The safety of our audiences, performers and crew are of paramount importance to us. Like many theaters during the pandemic we were shuttered for a long time and have only been able to get back to what we love by following all current and available guidelines and with a solid understanding of our indoor performance space. We sanitize all surfaces before and after each performance. Because we sell concessions, we ask that all food and drink be consumed in the lobby and masks removed only for that purpose.

Please look over our Covid Policy before coming. It is, like all things, subject to change when deemed necessary.
